UNION COUNTY– Union County is beginning its comprehensive plan update, the first update since 2013.
These plans – updated every 5 to 10 years – inventory current conditions and provide goals to guide community decisions. An updated comprehensive plan provides a basic
roadmap to current and prospective citizens, businesses, public officials, and developers. Some programs, like the State of Ohio’s farmland preservation program, require updated plans to make local funding applications more competitive.
A steering committee is guiding the plan’s development between now and its projected completion during fall of 2024.
As part of this update, a public survey is being conducted. The web-based survey is 29 questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Organizers hope residents will offer their opinions about housing, community activities, recreation, infrastructure, and future development.
Union County residents, those who work in Union County, or both are encouraged to take part in the survey, which can be found by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/r/UCCompPlan.
