Roger Carl Scheiderer

Roger Carl Scheiderer, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 20th, 2023. Roger was born July 3rd, 1952, in Columbus Ohio to Carlton & Vida (Lucas) Scheiderer. He grew up in Plain City and was a 1970 graduate of Jonathan Alder High School. Following high school graduation, he went to work on the family farm as well as driving a milk truck. In 1986 he purchased the milk hauling business which came to be Scheiderer Transport. He ran the family business and farmed his whole life and was proud of it. Living outside of Plain City for 71 years he loved the community and became known as the old man outside of town with the flags. Roger was described as ornery, stubborn, caring, hardworking, and giving. He loved and was very proud of his family. He enjoyed farming, fishing, playing poker, his dogs, cattle, watching old westerns, especially Gunsmoke, and sitting at the bar with his friends. Every year he looked forward to growing flowers with Mary Burns, a long-time coworker and friend at Scheiderer Transport. He was always willing to help anyone, whether they asked for it or not and loved making sure everyone was fed, even if they weren’t hungry, taking offense if you turned down his food. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Carlton & Vida Scheiderer, his sister Dorothy Toki, and brother-in-law Robert Clement. He is survived by his sons Adam (Lisa) Scheiderer and Kevin (Stacey) Scheiderer, grandkids Troy (Kaitlyn) Scheiderer, Brooke (Matt) Erickson, Audrey, Autumn and Wyatt Scheiderer, great grandkids McCoy, Sawyer, and Walker Scheiderer and Ian, Joseph and Jack Erickson, his sisters Starlett Clement and Shirley Alexander, as well as many friends and family. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Barbara (Rausch) Scheiderer, to whom he was married to for 32 years. His family would like to thank his at home caregivers Mitzi Davis, Amy Jordan, Madison Sharp, and Cassandra Koster. As well as the staff at Dublin Methodist Hospital, especially the 3rd Floor West ICU nurses. There will be a party in Roger’s honor at Scheiderer Transport on September 30th at 5pm.
