HILLIARD – The Marysville boys tennis team remains undefeated on the year as the Monarchs swept Hilliard Darby, 5-0, in action on the court Tuesday, winning all five matches in straight sets.
In the first singles, Gianni Russo blew past Darby’s Minogue, 6-0, 6-0, while Marysville’s Noah Burhanna downed Duckro 6-1, 6-3 in the second singles. Will Nuspl picked up the win in the third singles in a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Darby’s Perabithini.
The Marysville doubles teams dropped only one game in two straight set wins. In the first doubles, Marysville’s Mason Ice and Kyrell Stauffer breezed past Hykes and Bhatt 6-1, 6-0, and in the second doubles, Zach Nusbaum and Brady Scott did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 drubbing of Darby’s Allen and Braun.
Marysville has not lost a set in its last three matches and now stands at 5-0 on the season.
The Monarchs host Jerome at MHS Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
