Max Lee Lowery

Max Lee Lowery, age 89, of Marysville, died Friday, August 4, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
He retired in 2005 as quality specialist from Defense Supply Center in Columbus where he worked for 21 years. A a former associate of Rockwell International in Columbus, Max also worked at Denison Hydraulics in Marysville.
He was a 1953 graduate of South High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Franklin University. He served with the United States Naval Reserve and was a member of Marysville First United Methodist Church.
Max was also a 32nd Degree Mason of Palestine Lodge No. 158 F. & A.M. and enjoyed golfing and working in his yard.
He was born July 29, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lawrence Herbert and Thelma Ruth Griffiths Lowery and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Herbert Lowery, Jr. and Donald Lowery.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Ruth Notestone Lowery, whom he married July 2, 1954 at Briggsdale Methodist Church in Columbus; his children, Cynthia (Mike) Drake of Marysville, Mark (Deb) Lowery of East Liberty and Lisa K. (Chris) Lowery of Headland, Alabama; his grandchildren, Derek Drake, Stephanie Bowles, Mark “Adam” Lowery, Trisha (Scott) Hunt, Candie Jones Stockton, Kirby Hines and Cody (Bailey) Hines; his great-grandchildren, Mary, Maelie, Devon and Phillip; a sister, Barbara Petras; his sisters-in-law, Diane Lowery, JoAnn Head and Harriet Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Underwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to National Church Residences Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
