Fairbanks Falls In Div. III Regional Semis

Panthers end volleyball season with OHC and District Titles and a 23-3 record

MILLBURY – Despite winning the first set and scoring a total of 86 points in the four-set match, the Fairbanks girls varsity volleyball season came to an end Thursday as the Panthers dropped the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Div. III Region 10 semifinal match to Galion, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-19 at Millbury Lake High School.

The Panthers bow out of the season with an Ohio Heritage Conference North title and, for the first time in 26 years, a Div. III District Title.

The Panthers finished with a 15-1 record in OHC play this season and end the year with an outstanding 23-3 record for a .885 winning percentage.

Galion now moves on to the Div. III Region 10 finals against Coldwater Saturday as the Cavaliers downed Sherwood Fairview in four sets in the second semifinal at Millbury Lake High School Thursday, with the winner advancing to the State Final Four.
