Celts Drain 16 3-pointers Against Monarchs

DUBLIN – Marysville’s Jason Moore threw in 21 points and Nick Wever scored all 14 of his points the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 21-point third-quarter explosion by Dublin Jerome as the Monarchs fell to the Celtics, 76-61 Friday in boys varsity basketball action.

The Celtics drained a whopping 16 3-pointers in the game, including six in the third quarter alone, with four of those being made in the third by Lachlan MacDonald, who ended the contest with a team-high 18 points.

The Monarchs were draining it from outside the arc, too, as they connected on nine 3-pointers, with Wever hitting three himself in the third quarter. Andrew Rabe scored all of his nine points on 3-point shots for the Monarchs.

Luke Kuhlman scored 16 points for the Celtics and Ryan Nutter added 13 in the win.

Marysville will hit the road again Friday to take on Thomas Worthington at 7:30 p.m. while Jerome will be visiting at Olentangy Berlin at the same time.
